Presentation of Croatian Gastronomy at the Taste of Tokyo 2017
Croatian gastronomy and Croatian food products available on the Japanese market were presented at the Taste of Tokyo event organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The gastronomy fair was held from 22 to 24 September in front of Tokyo Big Sight, coinciding with JATA Toursim EXPO, the largest Japanese tourist fair, which ensured the large number of visitors. This event is a part of a larger project Beyond 2020 aimed at promotion of Japanese culture altogether in the context of the 2020 Olympics/Paralympics.
Visitors were able to participate in a number of cooking seminars presenting various national cuisines. Among them, wife of the Croatian Ambassador Blaženka Hrastić prepared Croatian style pork fillet with apples and truffles. In a commercial part of the event authentic delicacies from Croatia, such as olive oils and truffles products were offered to the visitors.
